Upgrading Horizon enrollment servers are easy and straight forward. Let me show you.
Enrollment server does have the exact same installation file that the connection server has, so don’t start looking after a separate installation file for the enrollment server. Remember that you should always upgrade all the connection servers that are in the same POD as your enrollment servers first.
If you haven’t upgraded your connection servers already, I have made a guide how to do it.
If you have two enrollment servers your users will not get any interruptions. But if you only have one, during the upgrade the users will lose SSO. That means that your users will for example get prompted for their Windows username and password during login. The same as on a physical computer.

Prerequisite
- Administration permissions to Horizon View
- Local administration rights to all enrollment servers
- Installation file for Omnissa Horizon Connection Server (You can find link below)
- Upgraded all the connection servers that are in the same POD as the enrollment server
Good to know
- Don’t upgrade your enrollment servers before you have upgrade all of the connection servers in that POD
- The installation file for enrollment server is the same as for connection servers
- You don’t need to reboot your enrollment server after the upgrade

Upgrade
- Login to your enrollment server with RDP
- Click on the Horizon connection server installation file
- First window is a window with information, after you have read it click Next
- Second shows you the installation path, click Install
- When everything is finished you will see a window like this
Verify health
In Horizon administration web GUI, you can check the health status on your enrollment servers. Remember that you need to refresh the page to be sure that you have the latest health status.

In the left side menu almost at the top you can see System Health. At the right of System Health, you can see if you have any health notifications, and if you have how many.

To get more information click on Dashboard that are located under Monitor

Here you can see an overview about your System Health, if you have any health notifications you will see them in the middle column. If you click on them, they will expand and show some more information.

If you click on VIEW, you will get an even better overview of your health status

At the top menu in the pop-up window click on SSO to see health status regarding your enrollment servers

Sometimes after you have upgraded an enrollment server it won’t flag as working in Horizon administration web GUI. If you have waited for more than 60 minutes, I recommend you restart that enrollment server, and it will flag as working again after that.
